Runway shows..

This is the Zac Posen fall/ winter 2012-2013 runway show. Zac Posen held a fashion show at Audi fashion festival in Singapore on May 19 2012. This fashion designer is well known for making extraordinary evening gowns for a number of celebrities such as Naomi Campbell, Rihanna,  Kate Winslet, Natalie Prtman, Claire Danes, Cmeron Diaz and Beyonce Knowles.

Through the exploration of this  video, there is emphasis on Zac Posen’s love for using specific colours such as red, black, navy blue, dark green and white. There are more usages of dark colours in comparison to light colours. The most common outfit in the runway were fitted skirts and blazers; this is because that is a sophisticated look and that is the look that most women over the age of 24 go for.

I analysed the use of diverse colours that was used, for example in this fashion show a large number of models were wearing the colour red and to me that colour represents intensity and maturity; this relates to what is in vogue because all the models were wearing smart clothing which is what women that are mature wear.

There was a large amount of dark colours in the runway show and this represents the time of season it is; this was a winter fashion show, which is a season that is cold, gloomy and dark this matched the colour of the outfits the models were wearing.

Overall, I really liked this fashion shows because it just represents what winter is all about and I believe that the fashion designer carefully chose the colours of the designs in order to represent the time of season it is.

America’s next top model is hosted by the one and only Tyra Banks who is one of the most successful models in the world. This programme is where a group of girls model and take part in various fashion tasks in order to become America’s next top model. At the end of each cycle there will be one winner and on the final episode the two final contestants will compete against each other on the runway and the best candidate will win. The winner gets a contract with cover girl magazine and $100,000. 

This video shows the final battle of  the models in each cycles; it presents the different walks, outfits and facial expressions the two finalists have. I enjoy this TV show because it shows me how a normal female can become a supermodel just by taking constructive criticism.

Victoria Beckham who was once known as ‘posh spice’ became a fashion designer in 2008 and is still such an extraordinary fashion icon today. She has ranges that cater for grown women and the younger generation. This is the spring summer 2013 fashion show and it took place in New York. I found this clip extremely intriguing because it gave me a clear picture of what clothes are in fashion this summer. Most of the models were wearing top hats which complimented the look they were going for.

The most common use of colours were black and white which is very formal but Victoria Beckham chose to design dresses and skirts with tight fitting for this season. Most of the models were wearing long skirts and white shirts which was not too fitted but still complimented ones figure. Another thing I noticed were the use of collars on dresses this is another way in which she was talented enough to make a dress look sophisticated and casual at the same time.
